Donnini Wins 2026 Driving Sustainability Award
It’s been a brilliant week for Donnini, and one we’ll certainly remember.
As part of Ayrshire Business Week 2026, businesses from across the region came together to celebrate entrepreneurship, innovation and the people making a difference within Ayrshire’s business community. For Donnini, the week ended with something particularly special - bringing home the 2026 Driving Sustainability Award at the Ayrshire Business Awards.
A journey that started just nine months ago
What makes this recognition particularly meaningful to us is just how quickly the journey has progressed.
Around nine months ago, we made the decision to take a much closer look at sustainability across Donnini. Rather than treating it as something separate from the day-to-day running of the business, we wanted to understand where we could make genuine, practical changes across our operations and properties.
Since then, we’ve been working to identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste, make more responsible choices and embed sustainability into the way we operate.
There’s been a lot to learn along the way, and we’re certainly not claiming to have everything figured out. But what we have achieved in a relatively short space of time has been something the whole team can be proud of.
Nine months ago, we were at the beginning of this journey. This week, we brought home the Driving Sustainability Award.
A milestone we're incredibly proud of
We were delighted to be shortlisted for the Driving Sustainability Award, but to actually win it was a fantastic moment for the whole Donnini team.
Sustainability has become an increasingly important part of how we think about the business. It’s not about making big claims or having a perfect solution - it’s about continually looking at what we do, identifying where we can improve and making more responsible choices wherever we can.
From improving energy efficiency and reducing waste to considering the environmental impact of our operations and the way we manage our properties, we’re constantly looking at practical ways to do things better.
To have those efforts recognised by the Ayrshire Business Awards is something we're incredibly proud of.
Proud to be an Ayrshire business
For us, there’s something particularly meaningful about receiving this recognition in Ayrshire.
Donnini started here, with our first apartment being a two-bedroom seafront apartment in Ayr, and Ayrshire continues to be at the heart of what we do today.
We work across communities throughout the region, welcoming guests, supporting local businesses and creating accommodation that allows people to experience Ayrshire for both business and leisure.
Being recognised alongside so many other fantastic Ayrshire businesses makes the award even more special.
Looking ahead
Winning the Driving Sustainability Award isn't the end of our sustainability journey - it’s another milestone along the way.
There’s still plenty we want to improve, and we’ll continue looking for practical opportunities to make our operations more efficient, reduce our environmental impact and contribute positively to the communities we operate in.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in the Ayrshire Business Awards, and congratulations to all of the businesses recognised throughout the evening.
And, of course, a massive thank you to the Donnini team. This award belongs to everyone who contributes to making the business better every day.
We’re incredibly proud to bring the 2026 Driving Sustainability Award home to Donnini.
